Reflective blog on Workshop of Cultural Study by Kalyani Vallath ma'am

On 27th December, we had workshop on Cultural Studies by one of the best professor Dr Kalyani_Vallath_ma'am, a highly passionate teacher from Trivandrum, Kerala. Kalyani ma'am is an edu-entrepreneur who persuaded her doctoral degree from Canada University on Children Cinema. I like her teaching method.

In the introductory session Prof. Dr. Dilip Barad Sir gave introduction of Dr. Kalyani Ma'am where Sir mentioned that Ma'am is running a finishing school where students are trained to work effectively in their respective jobs. As we know that the most important unit of NTA NET is Cultural Studies and Dr. Kalyani ma'am came to gave us knowledge of Cultural Studies. This is very hard subject but now I can say that no this is not hard subject if you read or the most important thing, if you understand. Ma'am explained what is Cultural Studies, it's beginning as well as the key concepts.

Following are some key points which Ma'am is taught us with her style.

3. Evolution of Cultural Studies
4. Various interpretive theories
5. Rise of Cultural Theories with a brief note on the emnent Thinkers.

12. Working class Culture & Mass Culture
13. Cultural_Materialism
14. Michael Faucult

18. Queer Studies etc.

Overall it was nice interaction with mam and we enjoyed a lot. I would like to thank Dr. Dilip Barad sir for organizing such a wonderful session on cultural studies.
