River and Tides


Before I discuss about this famous documentary let me tell you what is documentary? So documentary is a television or radio program or a film which shows real events ir provides information about a particular subject.
Andy Goldsworthy's "river and tides" working with the time. The documentary represents many themes like,
1. Transitory
2. Nature of art
3. Grasian urn
So what is life of your art? How do you look at art that are related with time? Just imagin that when you do something and it's broken how you react? He given to the sea as a gift.
Rivers and Tides is a famous documentary film
directed by Thomas Riedelsheimer about the British artist Andy Goldsworthy, who creates intricate and ephemeral sculptures from natural materials such as rocks, leaves, flowers, and icicles. The music was composed and performed by Fred Frith and was released on a soundtrack, Rivers and Tides. The film received a number of awards like the ‘Best Documentary’ awards of the San Diego Film Critics Society and the San Francisco Film Critics Circle. It is an Anglo-German co-production by Mediopolis Film and the British independent film company Skyline Productions.
In this documentary we can find beautiful art which are close to nature. Here, we can see that how he represents the process of life and death through nature. The very thing that brought it to life,  will bring about death and It represents that everything in life is temporary and everything will be changed or destroyed as the time passes.
